Whether in a motorcycle, race car or quad – the requirements for an electric drive are the same: it should be lightweight and space-saving while having a great deal of power. Maximum power density is thus required, and the VECTOPOWER high-performance electric drive provides just that. Even more, the power density of the VECTOPOWER components is the industry benchmark.

Compact and powerful - the inverter

The VECTOPOWER inverter provides outputs up to 250 kW with very compact dimensions of approx. 262 mm * 98 mm * 394 mm (W*H*D). With a weight of only 16 kg, the traction inverter offers a power/weight ratio of over 15 kW/kg. The power electronics manages battery voltages up to 720 V DC just as reliably as currents up to 550Arms.

Maximum torques and speeds – the electric motors

The VECTOPOWER high-performance electric motors also provide strong performance data and are precisely adapted to the requirements in the vehicle. As a result of the possible high speeds, the VECTOPOWER electric motors are smaller and lighter. At the same time, high efficiency is maintained. The VECTOPOWER PM synchronous motors stand out as a result of their optimum efficiency at all operating points.

The high field weakening ability of the motor allows maximum speeds. In particular the VECTOPOWER PM synchronous motors with buried magnets and utilizing the reluctance torque offer an unprecedented power density.

The use of this hybrid motor increases safety in critical driving conditions. The drag torque that occurs in the case of an all-phase short circuit is uncritical for the handling of the vehicle.

In addition to the high power, the VECTOPOWER drive system always provides maximum safety in critical driving conditions.
